The Communicator contact card provides details about the contact’s online status and his or her availability based on calendar information. It also provides a starting point for connecting with a contact. For example, you can start an instant messaging session, call the contact, schedule a meeting, or e-mail the contact. You can view the contact card for someone in your organization when you simultaneously edit a document by using Word or PowerPoint. From SharePoint or Windows Live SkyDrive, open a document that someone else is working on.

Note You can open the document from your browser or from Office for Mac. -
On the View menu, click Normal.

Do one of the following:

See who is editing anywhere in the presentation
On the status bar at the bottom of the window, click the numbered icon

See who is editing a specific slide
In the navigation pane, click the icon
next to the slide.

To send a communication to someone, click the person in the list, and then click either Send an instant message or Send mail.

Note To see the contact card of the person in the list, the contact must be signed in to Communicator.
