Customize the tasks list

To help you prioritize your work, you can customize the tasks list to display different types of tasks and flagged items.

  1. At the bottom of the navigation paneThe left pane of the main Outlook window. In Mail view, the navigation pane displays the folder list. In Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and Notes views, the navigation pane lets you show and hide items from your category list., click Tasks Tasks view button.

  2. Do any of the following:

    Mark a task as complete or incomplete

    Select or clear the check box in the Status Tasks status column headercolumn.

    Add or remove columns

    On the View menu, point to Columns, and then click a column name. A check mark in the menu next to a column name indicates that the column is already displayed.

    Sort tasks

    At the top of the tasks list, click the column header of the column that you want to sort by.

    Filter tasks by attributes such as due date, completion status, and priority

    On the Home tab, click the arrow next to Filters, and then click a filter.

    Show or hide items by category

    In the navigation pane, make sure that the category list is showing, and then select or clear the category check boxes.

    Hide flagged messages and contacts

    On the Home tab, clear the Flagged Items check box.

    Hide overdue items

    On the Home tab, clear the Overdue check box.

    Show completed items

    On the Home tab, select the Completed check box.
