The following table shows options for broadcasting your availability to other contacts and for controlling interruptions. Online status is also known as "presence."

| You are online but might be unable to communicate. | You can send and receive messages. |

| You are online but might be unable to communicate. | You can send and receive messages. |
Do Not Disturb | | You are online, but contacts that send you a message receive an alert saying that the message was not delivered. | If you do not want to receive messages, you can set the preference for Do not Disturb. From the Lync menu, click Preferences. In the Alerts tab, click the Do not display alerts when my status is Do Not Disturb check box. |
