If you have a

to see contacts' online status and their availability based on their calendar information.

Make sure that Outlook
is open.

Open Office Communicator. You can click the Communicator
icon on the Dock, or open it from the
Applications
folder.
 | Note If you see a message that asks whether you want to make Communicator
the default application for presence, click Use Communicator. |

Sign in to Communicator.
In Outlook, when you receive e-mail from a contact in your organization, you see an online status button
to the left of the contact name.

If you rest the mouse pointer over the online status button, you see the contact card.
From the contact card you can start an instant messaging session, call the contact, schedule a meeting, and more. For more information about the contact card and online status icons, see Communicator
Help.

Outlook
cannot show online status information from both Communicator
and Messenger. To change which application provides the status information to Outlook, close Outlook.
Open Communicator, and then on the Communicator menu, click Preferences, and then click the General tab. Under Presence Service, on the Presence pop-up menu, make your selection.
